We’re hosting two contests for our 2010 Annual Conference “Conquering Chaos” to give you a chance to win discounted or free registration. Just follow us on Twitter and watch for tweets starting with “AC CONTEST”.

WHY THE CONTESTS?

We want to spread the word about the upcoming conference - to both AMA members as well as their networks - to increase excitement for those attending the event, and to increase attendance by attracting folks who might not typically attend this type of event. By enticing you to engage in our social media, we hope you like what you see and interact with us again and frequently!

        HOW TO PARTICIPATE
o   Follow @MNAMA on Twitter.
o   Watch for MNAMA tweets starting with “AC CONTEST” between Tuesday, Sep. 28 and Friday, Nov. 5.
o   Be the first to respond - we’ll choose winners in order of correct responses and notify winners via direct messages on Twitter.

o   There will be 2 contests including a series of tasks such as retweet requests and trivia.
CONTEST 1 (Tuesday, Sep 28 - Oct 7 early bird registration deadline)
-Watch for 3 tweets that begin with AC CONTEST 1-A, AC CONTEST 1-B, and AC CONTEST 1-C.
-Follow the instructions for all three retweet requests.
-Participants who execute all three requests will be entered in a drawing to win free or discounted early bird registration.

CONTEST 2 (Oct 7 regular registration prices - Friday, Nov. 5)
-Watch for 3 tweets that begin with AC CONTEST 2-A, AC CONTEST 2-B, and AC CONTEST 2-C.
             -Tweet the sentence with your answer.
-Participants who tweet correct phrases and qualifying answers to all 3 trivia questions will be entered in a drawing to win free or discounted registration.
RULES
­    - You do not need to be an AMA member to win.

­    - Winners can only win once, but we encourage you to continue participating if you want to help promote the event.

Tweet to win a “coffee cupping” or tour at Caribou event Sep. 23

Don’t miss out on the chance to win a special experience at our upcoming “Pour It Like You Mean It: The Evolution of the Caribou Coffee Brand event”. Just follow us on Twitter and watch for tweets containing “Contest” as the first word.

WHY THE CONTESTS?

We want to spread the word about our upcoming programs to both AMA members and their networks. By engaging with you via social media, we hope you like what you see and experience, and interact with us again and frequently.

PRIZES
  • 9 winners will get to participate in a coffee cupping (like a wine tasting but with coffee)
  • 20 winners will get to participate in a tour of the corporate facilities and warehouse

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
  • Follow @MNAMA on Twitter
  • Watch for MNAMA tweets starting with “Contest” between Aug. 17 and Sep. 21
  • There will be 3-4 contests including:
    •  A specific retweet request
    • A series of trivia questions (you must correctly answer all questions in the series)
    •  Tweet your fill-in-the-blank response using the correct event information
  •  Be the first to respond - we’ll choose winners in order of correct responses

RULES
  • Participants must be registered for the event before they are eligible to win contests. You do not need to be an AMA member.
  • Response to contest questions must include the hashtags #MNAMA and #Caribou
  • Winners can only win once; you can win a coffee cupping or a tour, not both.
  • Winners must allow for an additional 30 minutes after the event on Sep. 23 for the coffee cupping and tour.

FUEL Your Creativity, THRIVE in Brand Development Contest

Did Ben Johnson’s blog posts about Big G’s extensive co-creation efforts to revitalize the 85-year-old iconic Wheaties® brand fascinate you? The MN AMA is proud to bring you exclusive access to the Wheaties FUEL™ development team in our upcoming Morning Program in April!

But wait, innovative marketing ideas are meant to be shared. To encourage intellectual discussions in brand development, the MN AMA is proud to present our second social media contest! Prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: One full-year supply of Wheaties FUEL™, a $100 value
  • Two signed Wheaties FUEL™ Cereal Packages, valued at $50 each
  • Two free passes for the April program, valued at $50 each

The rules are simple. First, review Ben’s blog posts (The Wheaties FUEL™ Development Story Part 1 and Part 2) and the Wheaties.com website to familiarize yourself with General Mill’s product co-creation strategy. Then tell us your thoughts about the Wheaties FUEL™ campaign:

  • What do you like about it or what don’t you like about it?
  • What should Big G consider to improve their co-creation and promotional campaign?
  • Provide an example of how similar product development and marketing strategy may or may not be successfully applied to another branded product/service other than the ready-to-eat cereal category.

Two-ways to Participate and Win:i

  1. Participate through Facebook:
    Become a Fan of MNAMA and Wheaties on Facebook. Submit your answers via MNAMA Discussion: “FUEL Your Creativity, THRIVE in Brand Development Contest Submission (3/30/2010, 8AM CST - 04/05/2010, 12:00PM CST)
  2. Participate through Twitter:
    Follow @MNAMA and @Wheaties_FUEL on Twitter if you aren’t already doing so. Submit your answers via Twitter with hashtags #MNAMA #Wheaties. (NOTE: Both hashtags must be included in each qualified tweet.)

Be honest, be creative and be reasonable. All you have to do is share or tweet your original idea(s). Share and tweet as much as you'd like - just be sure to follow the instructions above. Don't want to join Facebook or Twitter? Sorry... this is the only way to enter this contest.

The contest will begin at 8:00 AM CST on Tuesday, March 30 and run until 12:00PM CST on Monday, April 5. Any discussion responses or tweets submitted before or after these dates/times will not be considered. One Signed Wheaties FUEL™ Cereal Package and one Free Program pass will be awarded to the top responses in each social media channel.ii The grand prize will be awarded to the best response received between Facebook and Twitter. The lucky winners will be announced at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 6. All prizes must be claimed at the event on April 13 at General Mills Headquarters, so please be sure you are able to attend! We promise it will be worth clearing your schedule for.

Tweet Your Way to "Get in the Game"

The 2009 Annual Conference is just weeks away. We have an impressive line-up of speakers, and we are still busy planning what should be one of our best conferences yet. You don't want to miss this one. And we don't want you to miss it, either. That's why we're giving away a free pass, a $399 value, to one of our Twitter followers. Additionally, we’re offering $150 off of the standard registration price for three of our followers and $75 off the standard registration price for five other followers.

The rules are simple. First, follow @MNAMA on Twitter if you aren't already doing so. Then tell us why you'd like to attend this year's Annual Conference. Check out the conference Web site to see what's in store for this year. Then decide... Which of the sessions would you like to attend the most? Which speaker would you like to see in action? Why do you deserve to win this contest? Be honest. Be creative. All you have to do is tweet your reason(s).
